Tree House Bungalows in Koh Rong, Cambodia
When Joe and I decided we were heading to the beautiful island of Koh Rong, we had no idea where we were going to stay. Instead we wandered around once we arrived and stumbled upon one of the most romantic resorts I’ve ever been to in my life, the Tree House Bungalows!
We had our own risen bungalow that was nestled back in the jungle yet still practically on the beach. The beach and surrounding waters were beautiful and we spent an amazing afternoon exploring by kayak. We ended our day with a delicious dinner at the resort’s restaurant.
Koh Rong has so many beautiful and romantic resorts! You can find info where to stay and what to eat, see and do on in my super detailed guide to the island!

Fairmont Tremblant
in Mont-Tremblant, Canada-
By Amanda from A Life of Wander.
The Fairmont Tremblant, located in the picturesque Mont-Tremblant, Quebec (voted one of the most romantic destinations in the world), tops my list of most romantic hotels or resorts. Nothing is more romantic than the fairytale-like winter wonderland views seen from luxe guest rooms, although a lobby with multiple fireplaces, delicious cuisine, stellar service and conveniences like a ski valet certainly add to the romance factor!

Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort on Bazaruto Island, Mozambique-
By Iga from Eager Journeys.
Anantara Resort and Spa on Bazaruto Island had me spellbound with its Mozambican island lifestyle. The ocean view from my villa’s wooden deck is framed by palm trees, blooming bougainvilleas and other tropical plants. We worked up an appetite with a morning horse ride along the beach and didn’t see anyone else during our expedition to the azure waters of Dolphin Bay. Here we indulged in a gourmet picnic beneath a Bedouin tent. As far as island life goes, my hardest decision was where to enjoy my next cocktail. The adults-only infinity pool has a wet bar and spills onto the beach. Better yet, we had champagne in the Jacuzzi at Anantara Spa, after a full body massage. It looks out over the dhows that dance in the crescent-shaped bay below. At dinner the chef created an epicurean three-course dinner based on our preferences for our Dining by Design experience. It was served on the beach, beneath the stars, by our private waiter.

Madulkelle Tea and Eco Lodge in Panwila, Sri Lanka-
By Flo from Yoga, Wine & Travel.
High up in the hills in central Sri Lanka is a stunning hotel named Madulkelle Tea & Eco Lodge. Nestled among tea plantations, Madulkelle offers 18 safari-like lodges with the most spectacular views over Kandy’s mountain ranges. Each standalone lodge has its own private balcony overlooking the tea plantations below and offers breathtaking sunrise and sunset views. This hotel offers a precious opportunity to disconnect from technology and reconnect with your partner and nature. During the day, wander around the surrounding plantations, take a dip in the infinity pool or even better, go for a romantic couple’s massage at the hotel spa. Head to bed early so that you can wake up and catch the sunrise while sipping on a hot cup of tea on your balcony – snuggle with your partner for extra warmth!

The Ubud Village Resort & Spa
in Ubud, Bali-
By Georgina from Georgina Does.
The most romantic hotel that I’ve ever stayed at was The Ubud village resort in Bali. We had our own little thatched roof hut with a private pool and a huge stone bathtub out back. Each evening they lit the walkways up with tea lights and covered our room with flowers. It was incredible!

Hilton Hotel in St. Julian’s, Malta-
By Joanna from The World in My Pocket.
If you want to spend a romantic weekend in Malta I would recommend the Hilton hotel. Firstly, all the rooms are facing the sea or the marina and for me, waking up with the sunrise over the water is one of the most romantic things about mornings. During my stay at the Hilton I loved having breakfast on the terrace, by the pool, admiring the sunrise (I went there in November so the sunrise was quite late).
For the most romantic experience I would recommend the spa of the hotel, with 10 treatment rooms and over 80 different treatments. The spa has an oriental design with many zen elements and a very tranquil atmosphere.
The Hilton hosts one of the few Thai restaurants in Malta. The interior is a true work of art, recreating the experience of dining in the jungle. The restaurant is decorated with tropical flowers and plants, with a river passing through and even waterfalls on the walls. Actually, the restaurant has been voted as the “Most Romantic Restaurant” in 2008.
For a late night drink I recommend the hotel’s bar, with its amazing zodiac ceiling, the center piano and the beautiful terrace overlooking the marina. If it’s Thursday you can enjoy here live quality Jazz music. What’s more romantic than this?

The Aplite House in Freycinet National Park, Tasmania, Australia-
By Sophie from Travel Matters.
My significant other and I took a week long trip to Tasmania and never thought it could actually be so romantic! Nestled amongst Freycinet National Park, up a 2km driveway you’ll find the secluded Aplite House. No civilization is found as far as the eye can see, you are simply surrounded by nature and the one you love. With a house so spacious, luxurious and relaxing, you’ll find romance is all around you.

Kinsterna Hotel in Monemvasia, Greece-
By Noemi from Pinay Flying High.
Beautiful is an understatement, amazing does not even come close, stunning is a shame to say as it’s definitely more than that. The best way I can describe Kinsterna Hotel in Monemvasia, Greece is this: it’s like walking in someone else’s dream! Its perfection can’t be real, it has to be the works of an imaginative dreamer. It’s a 17th century mansion transformed into a beautiful hotel. It features a modern and luxurious decor all around the property but with a down-to-earth tone. Its breathtaking charm will make anyone fall in love with it.
You can read more about the hotel in Noemi’s post about her stay!

Little Kulala Camp in Sossusvlei, Namibia-
By Roxanne of RoxanneReid.co.za
Namibia in southern Africa is one of my favorite destinations because it offers everything from wildlife, deserts and weird plants to shipwrecks, adrenalin activities and fascinating cultures.
Little Kulala Camp is perfect for an unusual but romantic getaway. It lies in a 37,000-hectare wilderness reserve near the tall red dunes and white clay pans of Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei in the south of Namibia. Here some of the dunes are 80 million years old and the sparse vegetation survives on coastal fog that rolls in from the Atlantic Ocean 55km away.
We experienced a sunset drive, learnt about desert creatures and climbed the Big Daddy dune. Our room or ‘kulala’ (it means ‘to sleep’) had a glass wall that looked out over a landscape of mountains and skeletal camel thorn trees. We also had a private plunge pool. But the most romantic touch was an extra ‘skybed’ on the rooftop. Here in the clear desert air we could drink in the brilliance of millions of stars at night or the soft glow of pink skies at dawn.

Ayana Resort & Spa in Bali, Indonesia-
By Ashlyn of From Heart and Seoul
What could be more romantic than a resort that sits cliffside, overlooking the Indian Ocean in Bali, Indonesia? I can’t think of much.
Ayana Resort sits on the edge of Jimbaran Bay, and it’s decked out with some of the most jaw-dropping infinity pools you’ll ever see. Not to mention the fact that you have access to your own private stretch of Kubu Beach, complete with cabanas.Spend your day there or in the world class spa, but at night you won’t want to miss a chance to head down to Ayana’s Rock Bar. Perched right out over the ocean – you can wine and dine till your heart’s content. Live music included.
But the best part is truly the service, though. The staff makes you feel totally at ease, and without having to lift a finger, you can really just enjoy the one you’re with. Perfect for a honeymoon, or just a week away in paradise.

Oxygen Jungle Villas in Puntarenas, Costa Rica-
By Oksana & Max from Drink Tea & Travel
On the southwestern coast of Costa Rica, near a small town of Uvita, lies one of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed in – Oxygen Jungle Villas. The hotel is surrounded by lush jungle and offers stays in 12 stunning all-glass villas. The villas are built in Balinese style but offer modern comfort and quality all throughout the property. Each villa is climate controlled and comes equipped with a king-sized four-poster bed, a traditional Balinese roof, and a private terrace with an outdoor seating area.
We visited back in June 2016 and absolutely loved our little getaway. Our private Jungle View Villa was nestled deep in the forest and offered the utmost privacy from other guests and the surrounding villas. Food at the hotel was delicious and the on-site restaurant was never too busy. The highlight of our stay was the beautiful infinity pool that overlooked the Pacific Coast and Uvita’s famous Whale’s Tail. The hotel also offered an onsite spa, making it ideal for honeymooners looking for a secluded stay with loads of luxury.

This list has some amazing romantic resorts and hotels to visit with your partner that are sure to set the mood, but it’s all about the quality time you will get to spend together! Traveling with your significant other is one of the best things you can do to grow your relationship. Hope this list helped you find some romantic resorts to visit with your special someone!
Oh very lovely! Definitely would love to experience them all. Romantic indeed! 🙂
Oh wow, I could use a night in any of those right now 😉 😉 Okay maybe I would be a bit too scared at the Namibian one, out in the open. Wonderful selection!
Why would you be scared, Kat? You can sleep in the bedroom downstairs but the skybed is so beautiful and not at all dangerous.
I could understand being nervous but I bet it would be an amazing experience! I would love to try it out.
Thank you for including my contribution in this collab! Loved the other properties as well. 🙂
Love this and want to visit all these places with my partner one day! Thanks for the info! Woohoo xx
What a fabulously curated article. Way to often romance simply means a beach bungalow. These certainly are romantic and should be on your list but there are other romances as well. Ski chalets, jungle lodges, and even desert retreats are all deserving of mention and, sure enough, they are on your list. Congratulations on a job well done.

I totally agree! Romance can be found in so many different places. I was pleasantly surprised at the diversity of suggestions that came through when I asked for suggestions 🙂
Now, I would like to feel the feeling of being in love and hop in to these romantic getaways… However, I have picked Madulkelle Tea & Eco Lodge in Sri Lanka and Kinsterna Hotel in Monemvasia, Greece for a digital detox and fall in love more with myself 🙂
And for the other places, they are beautiful… too beautiful that we really need that special someone to spend with to explore them…
I LOVE that! I’ve stayed at a beautiful fancy hotel by myself before and it was incredibly liberating! Enjoy!
So happy to see Southern African countries Namibia and Mozambique represented here – there’s so much romance here in Africa. Thanks for including my choice, Kassie.
Thanks for sharing, Roxanne! I’m very excited to visit these places and many more when I visit Africa someday!
This is pretty serious travel inspo right here 🙂 So many of these places are on my list, and especially mont tremblant as its not far from where I live, yet I haven’t been! Great article!! xx
I’m dying to head to Canada this year– especially with the national parks being free! I will have to stop at Mont Tremblant too 🙂
Thanks for including my recommendation, Kassie! There are some incredibly stunning hotels on this list – bookmarking for next Valentine’s Day!
Just beautiful! I would surely visit all of them in exact this order 🙂
Hard to say, which one I personally like the most… since they are all uniquely beautiful but somehow Little Kulala Camp in Sossusvlei got me the most. Only concerning I would have about wild animals there, especially in African desert, but obviously this wouldn’t be a problem 🙂
Haha I would be a little nervous too but I bet it would end up being an amazing experience!
I may be super single (and deliriously happy about it!) but I would still love to visit these places with a friend or even take my Mum! Actually am hoping to take her to Malta in September and that hotel looks phenomenal. I am a budget traveler at most times but it’s nice to splurge every once in a while and even better when you can spoil someone you love. Thanks for sharing!
I’m all about staying at resorts & hotels by yourself! My man is often too busy with work to travel with me so occasionally I have beautiful hotel rooms/bungalows all to myself. Doesn’t make them any less awesome 🙂
I had so much fun collaborating on this post! Thanks for featuring our favorite resort in Bali 🙂
All of these look so great! Definitely planning some trips from this guide in the future!
Thanks for contributing! Definitely want to plan a trip to Bali and so many other places after writing this one!
Oh my goodness, how amazing is that Sri Lankan sky?! These resorts look spectacular. Quebec is such a gorgeous place, so it doesn’t surprise me that you’ve chosen a resort from there. These are great picks and ones I will keep in mind for future reference!
Right?! I’ve been dying to go to Sri Lanka. Just putting together this post gave me a serious case of wanderlust ?
Oh, I love the treehouse! I would definitely stay there. The infinity pool Ayana Resort & Spa in Bali, Indonesia looks pretty great, too. Actually, any one of these resorts would be a pleasure to stay at.

They had one special tree house that was literally suspended between two trees but it was booked solid for two months. Definitely want to return just to stay there! I added so many places to my bucket list after writing this post 🙂
I love how diverse this list is! Full of stuff that is traditional and off-beat, very cool.

This is a great list. I love the resort in Tremblant. I have been to Quebec once before skiing as it is about a 12 hours drive from my home. I love the resort in Namibia and the chance to sleep in the outside air. How romantic. Not sure I would choose heading to Malta, but the waters looks so incredibly clear that it just may change my mind!
Since moving to the warm weather I find that I’m craving a snowy weekend! I’m thinking of going to Tremblant myself!
These all look absolutely gorgeous! I can’t pick a favourite. There are lots of stunning resorts and island getaways here in the Fiji Islands – its very popular for couples and honeymooners, some of the beachview bungalows are gorgeous!

I am officially inspired. I’m kicking myself that I went to Namibia and didn’t know about Little Kulala. Having finally gotten used to camping I think I’m ready for the next step!
I would also love to stay in the tree house. It would be such a unique experience. You’ve made me want to be more creative when booking my next trip!
The tree house was truly a dream! It was one of the prettiest hotels I’ve ever been in.
Wow these resorts are truly romantic. I love that they feel like a true escape – a quiet place to unwind and just enjoy each other’s company! Both of the Bali resorts you listed sounds and looks amazing. I’d love to wake up to that view in Tasmania, too! Just so many great locations to consider for our next romantic getaway!

I’m already planning a return trip to Bali so that I can stay at these resorts!
These resorts are absolutely breathtaking! I’m also a fan that a Canadian one made the list! 😉 The resort in Mozambique though – it looks absolutely heavenly!
Love, love, love these destinations. As soon as I meet that ‘special someone’, I’m on a plane 😉
This is an incredible array of resorts – and I would love to take my sweetie to any one of them — but oh – that skybed in Namibia – HOLY COW!
I would love to visit the skybed too! Someday ?
Uhhhhh I want my backyard to look just like Ubud, Bali. It’s not asking for too much right? Yeah! I can do it. Sort of. Kinda. Let’s see. I desperatly want to travel again. Counting the seconds until little one is mature enough to sit still and enjoy it ;D
Haha I think we all wish our backyard was Bali!
Oh wow! I would like to take my hun to The Ubud Village Resort & Spa ! What an amazing place! great list! Cheers!
All beautiful spots! I stayed at a super romantic hotel suite in the mountains in Switzerland with a jacuzzi hottub deck, high ceilings, mountain views, and floor-to-ceiling windows. Incredible.
This sounds amazing!! I would love to visit Switzerland someday.
Wow, these are some beautiful places. Time to plan an unstoppable trip. Cheers!
